One has to admit that, more often than not, Jute comes in shapes of doormats and (no offence) semi-stylish shopping bags.

Thank god a new Danish design duo is putting an end to the monotony. The designers Rebecca Uth and Ole Kiel met through their passion for crafts and interior design at the Home department of Georg Jensen in Copenhagen. With their label RO (Danish for serenity) they set an example of how Jute can be as stylish as practical.

With our help they developed a series of BBQ equipment at a Jute-only factory in India. It’s is not only nice to look at, but made from the naturally organic fibre Jute. The RO BBQ glove (leather and jute), for instance, lets you handle hot tools without getting burned.

Get excited for more innovative Jute design from RO and of course for the BBQ season kick off!
