We’re hiring: Product Developer in CPH

BRICpro is looking for an experienced Product Developer within furniture to join our team in Copenhagen.

Who is BRICpro?

BRICpro is an ethical sourcing and development company with offices in Copenhagen, China and India. We assist design brands with product development and production of furniture, interior accessories and home textiles at our partnering factories in Asia and Europe. Our clients are high-end to affordable-luxury brands from Northern Europe and USA with focus on quality and sustainability.

We work in close collaboration with suppliers and our colleagues in China and India to guarantee a consistent flow and quality in all stages on the production processes. As a responsible and ethical sourcing company, we are member of the UN Global Compact initiative, FSC and the Danish Ethical Trading Initiative.

If you want become part of our team, you will be based in Copenhagen and will work in close collaboration with our Head of Production, suppliers and offices abroad.

About the position:

You will work on the development of new indoor and outdoor furniture pieces for design brands, and you will be involved in the development of a new collection of furniture that is designed for the contract market. Besides that, you will be responsible for managing the production of those items, doing quality inspections and contract market compliance.

The right person for this position has (i) a deep technical knowledge of furniture production (ii) very good organizational- and communicative skills, (iii) functions well in a hectic working environment and (iv) a good business sense.

We are a small but global team working from various locations in Denmark and Asia, so we offer a flexible working environment where you will have a high level of independence.

What you will do:

  • Develop new furniture pieces, such as chairs, sofas, tables etc.

  • Manage productions

  • Prepare QC reports, production guidelines and sample review documents

  • Communicate daily with our suppliers in Asia and Europe

  • Coordinate on-site quality inspections with our inspection teams

  • Join meetings with new and existing clients

  • Work on contract market compliance

Your qualifications:

  • You hold a technical degree within design or engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of experience within development of furniture

  • Experience within the contract market is a plus

  • Experience with sourcing and supply-chain management

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Super user of Microsoft Office

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Danish is a plus, but not a must.

  • Customer service oriented

  • Passion for design and good understanding of quality

  • Ability to work independently and be assertive

  • A hard working team player

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • An international mind-set

Additional information:

  • You should be ready to travel 14 days a year to visit suppliers and customers in Europe and Asia.

  • International applications are welcome if you are willing to relocate and have a working visa for Denmark.
